A half beef gives you a well-rounded freezer full of beef, including premium steaks, versatile roasts, brisket, short ribs, and plenty of ground beef. It also gives you more flexibility to choose how your beef is cut and packaged.

Typical cuts

Your half beef will include a broad mix such as:

  • Ribeye

  • New York strip

  • Filet

  • Sirloin steak

  • Chuck roast

  • Rump and/or sirloin-tip roast

  • Brisket

With a half share, you'll also be able to customize many of your processing choices, including options such as steak thickness and package size, bone-in or boneless cuts, roast selections, ground beef package sizes, and whether you'd like certain cuts turned into additional ground beef. Other available options may include burger patties, soup bones, fat, and organ meats.

We'll send you the available cut options before processing and are happy to walk through them with you. If you'd rather keep it simple, you can also choose our recommended Hundred Oaks assortment and we'll take care of the decisions for you.

Your $500 deposit reserves your share and is applied toward your final balance. Your final total will be based on the actual packaged weight after processing.

Standard processing, vacuum packaging, labeling, and freezing are included. Certain specialty processing selections may carry an additional charge, which we'll confirm before processing.

Our Dexter cattle are raised outdoors on pasture at Hundred Oaks Farm with non-GMO feed, no added hormones, and no antibiotics.

Freezer space: A half beef is a lot of meat. We recommend a dedicated chest or upright freezer, with roughly 5–7 cubic feet of open space available.

Our Katahdin and Blackbelly Barbados sheep are raised outdoors on pasture at Hundred Oaks Farm. Our lamb is grass-fed, with no added hormones and no antibiotics.

Freezer space: A whole lamb is still fairly compact. It should fit in roughly one to two freezer drawers or a good portion of a standard refrigerator freezer. Most households will not need a dedicated freezer.
