Frequently asked questions
How Ordering Works
1. Choose what you’d like
Items you can “Add to Cart” can be purchased right away for the next pickup window. For upcoming batches, simply reserve through the form and we’ll notify you when yours is ready.
2. Pick your window
We email you our next bi-weekly pickup slots. Come anytime — or send someone on your behalf.
3. Pick up & enjoy
Swing by the farm during your pickup window, grab your order, and take a moment to see the animals and the pasture where your food is raised.
Ordering and Pickup
Do I pay now or at pickup?
All main products — eggs, pork/lamb boxes, and whole chickens — are purchased online at a fixed price. Chickens use size-based variants, so you choose your size and pay upfront.
At pickup, you’re also welcome to grab add-on items like merch, extra eggs, or additional boxes. Those can be paid for on the spot.
Where do pickups happen?
Pickups take place on our farm in Geneva, at a clearly signed pickup area near the barn. We offer two weekly pickup windows:
Saturday mornings
Wednesday afternoons/early evenings
How will I know when to pick up my order?
When your order is ready, we’ll email you with the upcoming Wednesday and Saturday pickup windows.
Just reply to the email with the window you prefer, and we’ll have your order staged and ready.
If you can’t make either window, you’re welcome to:
send a friend or family member, or
push your pickup to a later week — no problem at all.
Do you offer delivery?
Most orders are picked up on-farm during our two weekly pickup windows.
However, we do offer a few flexible options:
A planned spring drop in Bloomington, IL
The ability to have someone you know pick up your order
The option to delay pickup to a later week if you can’t make the current windows
Any special drop spots or seasonal delivery options will always be listed on the website.
Meat Quality & Packaging
How is my order packaged?
All orders come in premium branded farm boxes, packed neatly and ready for the freezer.
Inside the box, products are vacuum-sealed, labeled, and frozen solid for easy storage.
How long will frozen meat last?
Peak quality when stored frozen:
Pork: 8–12 months
Lamb: 8–12 months
Whole chickens: 6–9 months
Eggs (refrigerated): up to 12 weeks
Is everything USDA inspected?
Yes. All meat is processed at USDA-inspected facilities.
Farm Practices
Are your animals pasture-raised?
Yes — all animals are raised outdoors on rotating pastures using regenerative grazing.
What breeds do you raise?
Berkshire pigs
Katahdin / Barbados Blackbelly sheep
Heritage chickens
(Beef cattle coming soon.)
What do they eat?
Pigs: pasture + grain (corn and soy blend) + spent brewer’s grain
Sheep: 100% pasture/forage
Chickens: pasture + supplemental non-GMO grain + spent brewer’s grain
No hormones ever.
What To Expect At Pickup
What should I bring?
A cooler is helpful in warm weather, but not required. Your box is frozen and well-packed.
Can my kids see the animals?
Absolutely. Many of our animals are in pens within sight of the pickup area, and kids can say hello from safe viewing spots.
When time allows, we’re happy to do a quick walk-around so your family can see where the animals live and how we raise everything.
How long does pickup take?
Usually 2–3 minutes. Everything is boxed and ready.
Product and Box FAQ
How much freezer space will I need?
Using everyday references, here’s an easy guide:
Whole chicken: ~1 gallon freezer bag (or half a shoebox)
Pork or lamb box: roughly the size of 1 shoebox (fits in most home freezers easily)
Multiple boxes: ~2–3 shoeboxes worth of space (⅓ to ½ standard freezer shelf)
How big are the boxes?
We use sturdy, premium-feel farm boxes sized to the product.
